Gloomy day? Bring your own sunshine!
So what do you do when you've got your engagement session on a gloomy, overcast day? Reschedule? Move indoors? Pray for sunshine? Or just roll with it? Well, that's the dilemma that Tayler, Coy, and I faced this day! I know most people want a nice, bright, sunshiny day for their pictures but this post will hopefully change your mind on just how beautiful an overcast day can be!
I always try to encourage my couples to embrace the day for what it is, rainy, snowy, windy, clear skies, or whatever it could be. Because, I believe some of the curveballs from Mother Nature can actually create really beautiful moments and images you wouldn't have otherwise! And my personal favorite happy accident due to weather: vibrant colors!

Though it seems counterintuitive, colors actually appear more vibrant on overcast days because the clouds diffuse sunlight, this makes the light much more even and it lessens the contrast between shadows and highlights. This lets us see colors more vividly than we would in harsher sunlight.

So, Tayler and Coy decided to embrace to cold sprinkle and the low clouds and it could not have been more perfect if we tried!! The moody lighting paired with the gorgeous fall colors and Tayler and Coy's western-inspired outfits the vibe was PERFECTION! Though the weather was a bit gloomy, these two had so much joy and brought their own sunshine to their session!

After a quick little outfit change, we headed down to road to even more picturesque spots and had some fun running around and laying in the grass. The quiet of the rainy day and the beautiful fields made me feel so cozy! Truly such a perfect day but we are hoping for some sun for their wedding day this summer (; haha! But this engagement session definitely made me confident that so long as Tayler and Coy are in the pictures, they'll all be gorgeous!
