That time I army crawled over three different hills

A little bit of back story to set the scene. Alex became friends with my husband, Hunter through aviation school and soon after meeting Alex, then there was Hailey and we all became friends! The two of them started dating and distinctly remember telling Hunter "If they ever get married, I BETTER be taking all of those photos for them."

Well, fast forward a couple of years and I finally get the text. Alex had asked Hailey's dad for her hand and now it was time for him to propose! He let me know that he wanted to go up to a little lake in the mountains to go fishing and then he would pop the question there. I was SO excited and even worked with Hailey the morning of the day she would be getting engaged, trying my best to not let my excitement or teary eyes tip her off. After a long, and VERY bumpy drive, ( turns out, Google Maps had other plans for us and took us on a two track road instead of the nice paved road ) Hunter and I finally get to the location and see Alex's truck and see where the two of them were fishing. Only problem was that there was nowhere for us to park that they wouldn't clearly see. So, we had to drive down the road and down a hill a little bit to be out of their sight. Then was the getting over to them.

We had to go under a barbed wire fence, crawl on our stomachs over hill number one, cross a creek, crawl over hill number two, hide behind trees, and then finally find our place crawl up hill number three where I perched and waited for Alex to see us and give the go ahead.

Alex & Hailey made their way to this little point, they fished for a bit, and then he got down on one knee. Our shouts of joy and congratulations echoed across the lake as we came running out of the woods. It truly was the sweetest moment!

After we gave hugs and wiped tears, we of course took a couple of sweet pictures right around where they had been fishing. We then walked back to cars on a much less chaotic route and laughed about how they didn't even see us initially drive by. Perhaps all of the army crawling was a tad extreme but that's what you get when there's a secret mission to complete and you bring your veteran infantryman husband with you, haha!

Could not be more excited for Alex and Hailey as they embark on this new chapter of their lives!
